Top 5 unsung beauty heroes
Today’s post, incase you haven’t guessed from the title, is about my top 5 beauty bits I love, that I think, don’t get enough attention in the beauty community.
My first unsung hero is RMK Creamy Foundation. If I was told I could only use one foundation ever again, I think this would have to be the one. It is a medium to full coverage foundation (which in itself is unusual for me, as I would always lean more towards a light to medium) but it does not feel heavy on the skin at all. My skin never feels cakey like it does in other full coverage foundations. It creates a flawless, dewy finish that leaves you looking like you glow from within. It will set you back £36 from Selfridges, but a little goes a long way, so it will last you a long time. The only negative thing I do have to say about this little wonder, is that it comes in a jar, so it is messier to use that a pump foundation.
A newer addition to my unsung beauty heroes is a little bargain from Rimmel, in the form of their Match Perfection Concealer. It is fabulous. It is creamy and light feeling but whilst providing a really good amount of coverage. It is great for covering dark circles – and mine are particularly dark – but you can also get away with it on blemishes, even though it say illuminating. Again my only complaint is about the packaging. It comes in a little tube with a brush on the end, that you squeeze the product out of. But it is quite hard to squeeze it down and can feel like you are going to pop the brush off. But for £5.99 you can’t complain too much.
No7’s Instant Illusions Rapid Radiance Balm is a real love of mine and you never hear it spoken about. As a true beauty addict, I am always trying different products, so when I get a compliment on my skin looking great I have to think what I have used that is different – and it is nearly always this product. It just gives me that extra bit of glow, that helps me look like I got a great night’s sleep, when I actually drank 2 bottles of Prosecco and got only 4 hours. Being No7, it is exclusive to Boots, and I always stock up when they have their £5 off No7 voucher, as it brings it in at only £12.
I don’t know about you guys, but pores around my nose drive me insane! A product I absolutely love, that I very rarely hear spoken about is Nars Instant Line and Pore Perfector. It comes with me in every single travel make up bag, it goes on before any major event or special occasion. In fact it goes on almost every day. I love the old version in the pot, but I believe the new stick version is exactly the same but in stick form. It costs £20, which is cheaper than Benefit’s Porefessional and in my opinion is way better…I know that may cause some controversy!
Last but certainly not least is L’Occitane Relaxing Bath Salts. Now, anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE my baths. It is my favourite thing to do to relax and unwind, and over the years I have tried some gorgeous oils, bath foams, bath bombs, even bath pearls (anyone growing up in the 90’s will know what I am talking about) but there are very few things I have loved enough to recommend to anyone. But these salts are amazing. After my first bath using them, I got out and could barely keep my eyes open I felt that sleepy and relaxed. You can get these for £16 from Debenhams.
Let me know in the comments below what your favourite unsung beauty heroes are, as I love an excuse to try something new.
