The KP Lodges
This post is long overdue. As I am sure you can all relate to, this time of year is just so busy and time just runs away with you. A good couple of weeks ago now I had a fabulous girly getaway in York with the girls, so thought I’d briefly tell you about it and give an in-detail run down of the at home facials I did for us all.
We went up on the Friday evening and stayed at my friend Jo’s – which turned incredibly messy! Typical first night excitement. There was a lot of drinking, dancing and generally having an amazing time, but it did turn into a truly terrible hangover for my friend Claire and embarrassingly some sick for me. Not proud – but still, it was a really great night.
Day two, after a painful morning, we headed over to the KP Lodges (where Jo’s husband is the green keeper) for their “girly getaway” package. I can’t seem to find the deal online, so it may have finished now. It was a great deal though. For £99 pp you got over night accommodation in the gorgeous lodges, an arrival cocktail, dinner and a glass of prosecco with dinner and breakfast the next day. Plus the amazing hot tub on our decking.
As we had gone pretty hard on the first night, we all took it pretty easy on the second night. After dinner we came back to the lodges and made the most of the beautiful lodges and chilled out.
We got our matching PJs on – yes we are THAT cool, all 6 0f us had matching PJs. We then got ourselves a little drink and all got on the giant bed and started the pampering.
The “Girly Getaway” Facial
I did everyone, (other than Claire, who was too ill *hungover* and had to take herself off to bed) a facial including some facial massaging. As we weren’t at my house, it was only the products I had packed to use, so we all had the same.
All of the girls did their own first cleanse, to remove their makeup. For the second cleanse, we used the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel and had a really good thorough massage of the face before removing with a warm-hot flannel.
Here there was a split – half of the girls used an acid pad and half used a physical exfoliant. The acid pads were the Nip and Fab Extreme pads (just the usual wipe all over the face, turn and swipe again.) The physical exfoliator of choice was the Omorovicza Refining Facial Polish. This is definitely my very favourite exfoliator. You have to be fairly gentle with it, but it really sloughs away any dead skin.
After exfoliating, we went in with a clay face mask, to try and draw out any impurities. We used the Una Brennan Clay Mask. This mask dries to be pretty hard, so you know once it is ready to remove. Again, we removed this with hot flannels.
I had bought this eye cream on the Friday afternoon before heading up to York. So I was excited to try it out on everyone. It was the Avène Physiolift Eyes. I really liked it and felt it really plumped out the eye area.
Treatment and Massage
I then opted for Zelens Vitamin D oil as the oil to use to roller the face with. The Body Shop facial roller, was the tool of choice for the facial massage. I applied a generous layer of the Vitamin D treatment and then used the facial roller all over the face for about 5 minutes.
Some of the girls just left their skin with the vitamin D on. I applied a layer of Emma Hardie Age Support over the top, to seal it all in.
We woke up the next morning and went for our big fry up, then checked out and headed for a good shop at the Designer Outlet Village. Once we had shopped ourselves out, we headed for a big wagamama to finish off our girly getaway and then did the journey home.
It was a really great weekend. I wish I had got a few more pictures to share; however it was mainly just drunken snapchats – which no one needs to see!
