Getting prepared for Christmas

I like to try and get a little bit of beauty prep in on Christmas Eve, so that I feel lovely and pampered, ready for Christmas Day. However, I don’t get much time to do a full on pamper session, as there is always so much rushing around to do and last minute errands to run. So I keep it quite short and just add in what I can to my routine.

The first thing I do and something I always make time to fit in, is a face mask. This is something you can pop on and leave to work whilst doing other jobs, so will only add a few minutes to your day. I opted for the Rodial Super Acids X-treme acid rush peel. This is a resurfacing mask, packed full of acids, to help eliminate dead skin and reveal more glowing skin, which is just what you want ready for Christmas Day. For any of you who did get your hands on the M&S Beauty Advent calendar, you will have had a deluxe sample size of this.

Another thing I always make time for is a hair mask. This is something you can adjust, again, depending on the amount of time you have. So if you do have time for a full pamper, then I would recommend using a mask that you apply before washing your hair, so again you can leave it on whilst carrying on with your other jobs and then rinse it off in the shower. However, if you are short of time, I would recommend just using a hair mask in place of your conditioner in the shower. One I like to use in the shower is the John Frieda Full Repair hair mask. It is a really great high street option, and you can usually pick it up from even your local super market for under £10.

Another thing I like to make time to do, is give my body a good scrub in the shower to get rid of any dead skin. My favourite way currently is to just use my usual shower gel but on exfoliating gloves, this way it is no longer than your usual washing routine. I then like to get a good layer of moisturiser on, but again this is something that doesn’t need to take up a lot of time as you can just slather it on straight after your shower. I know some of you do this every day anyway, but for me it is something I am really lazy with, so I make sure I do it on my Christmas Eve pamper. If I have time for a bath I like to put of bath oil in, as that adds another layer of moisture to the skin and feels really luxurious, but this is really dependent on the amount of time I have to laze around.

I hope you all get a little bit of time to pamper today. Happy Christmas to you all, I hope you have a lovely Christmas Day.
