I really love filming and watching empties videos, but I did feel like I had filmed A LOT of empties videos of late (a previous one can be found here.) So I decided for a change this month to write a post on my current empties instead. There is quite a good mix of makeup, skincare, body care and hair care. I will run through them all, give you my thoughts and let you know whether I would repurchase them or not.
There are 5 makeup empties to tell you about. I personally think that is quite impressive, as I find makeup a lot harder to work my way through than I do skincare. So I always feel pleased with myself when I have makeup empties.
There are two mascaras – both are from Maybelline. The first is Maybelline the falsies which I think is one of the OG mascaras. Every man and his dog used to talk about this mascara, but with good reason. I think it is one of my favourite mascaras, I have been consistently repurchasing this mascara for the last 5 years ( I think.) I also find I love both the waterproof and normal versions in equal measure. The waterproof is best for when my lashes are normal and the non-waterproof version is best for when I have an LVL lash lift. They are both as great as each other and I have already repurchased the non-waterproof.
The second is Maybelline Rocket Mascara which is another great option. I’m not sure I like it quite as much as the falsies, but I do still think it would be in my top picks of drug store mascaras. I like to use it most when I haven’t had an LVL lash lift.
Another product I have used up and really love, is the No7 Rapid Radiance Balm. I had actually repurchased this before I had even finished the previous bottle because I hate being without it (I also like to make the most of the No7 money off vouchers when they come out.) It is basically a radiance boosting primer, that helps your skin look that bit healthier and more alive and it does a good job of it.
A product that will come as no surprise to regular readers / viewers is the Max Factor Crème Bronzer . This bronzer became my most reached for bronzer, right from the first time of using it. I have only ever hit pan on a couple of bronzers in my life (mainly Nars Laguna.) So to have used this up in a couple of months says it all. I have obviously already repurchased this bad boy and am probably about half way through that one too.
There is only a miniature in this category, it is a travel size version of the Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer . It isn’t as easy to get the travel size in the UK, but if you are in the U.S Sephora stocks it. This is still one of my all time favourite concealers, but I haven’t yet repurchased it. Think mainly because concealers can go off quite quickly and I do already own a serious amount of concealers.
There are only two hair products in this latest empties round up. One conditioner and one dry shampoo. The dry shampoo is just your good old classic Batiste. It is THE original dry shampoo. Your hair will have white residue, but it does the best job of soaking up any oil and is super affordable. The conditioner is Lanza Moi Moi Masque. My hairdressers use Lanza and I love a lot of products from them, Moi Moi masque included. It is a great mask for adding moisture back to the hair. As I have blonde, over processed hair, I always need more moisture, so really enjoy using this as a treat. It smells amazing too!
This is the largest category of empties- as always! Although I am always trying new skincare products, I do like to try and use things up as quickly as I can, so they don’t go off. So it does mean I make my way through skincare quite quickly. Some of the empties are only sample sizes and others are full size.
Sample Size Empties
Recently, I was given a deluxe sample size of the Oils of Life sleeping cream from The Body Shop and I really liked it. I have noticed that The Body Shop seems to be a bit of a chalk or cheese kind of brand, with people either loving it, or finding the products a waste of time. For the life of me, I really cannot understand the latter thought process, as I genuinely see some fantastic results with so many of their products. The sleep cream is no exception. I must be honest, I do prefer the actual oil from this range, but I still really enjoyed this sleep cream. As yet, I haven’t bought a full size of this, as I have a lot of other night treatments on the go at the moment, but I happily would.
I bought a full size tube of the Dr Jart Ceramidin cream in September and was given at the same time three sachets of the liquid. The liquid is the serum within the range and I LOVED it. I think I like it even more than the cream that I actually bought. The cream is lovely and particularly great after using Vitamin C or Retinol but the liquid I loved even more and used it morning and night. I have this sat in my online shopping basket waiting for me to finish my shopping.
One of the green tubes is the Lancôme Energie De Vie Liquid Moisturiser. I didn’t hate this – obviously, as I used it right to the end, but I won’t be repurchasing this. The main reason being, that it is just unmemorable. I finished this product before quite a few of the other empties in this post and I just can’t really remember much about it – which I think says it all.
The other green tube is the Tata Harper Reparative Moisturiser . This is a really lovely moisturiser, but it is a whopping £94!!! So I am not sure I’ll be rushing out to buy it any time soon.
Sample Size – that I already own in full size
Lastly for the sample size empties is the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme mask. There are so, so many references from me on the blog and my YouTube channel about how much I love this mask. I have a full post on it here, rather than rambling on again about it. You can see from above, I already have the full sized version.
Full Size Skincare Empties
There is yet another Vichy Waterproof Eye Makeup remover – I think at one point I actually had 4 or 5 empties of this eye makeup remover. I very unusually haven’t repurchased this, as I had a few others to try; however I will be repurchasing at the weekend as the others I have tried aren’t anywhere near as good.
A product I was sad to reach the end of, was the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturiser. This is another moisturiser with a pretty high price tag, not quite as high as Tata Harper, but still £50. This moisturiser I liked to use when my skin needed something more plain but that really hydrated. That may sound awful, for any product, let alone something so pricey, but it worked perfectly for that purpose. The packaging is fab. It comes in a tub, with a push down top, which releases the product. I will sadly not be repurchasing this at the moment, but definitely would in the future.
Another regular in my skincare cupboard are the Nip + Fab Extreme Acid Pads. They are a firm favourite of mine and have already been replenished. I would recommend waiting until they go on offer before buying them though, as you can usually get them on buy one get one free or some other discount.
The Avene Hydrance Serum is a big win from me. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It helps rehydrate the skin. Totally non irritating to my very sensitive skin. Products layer beautifully over it and to top it off it isn’t too pricey.
Another of the empties is the Pixi Glow tonic. It is another highly talked about product. It is a 5% glycolic acid, so a nice gentle daily exfoliant. I love pixi glow tonic and would definitely repurchase this.
If you have made it this far – well done! There are only two empties to go, you will be pleased to know.
The first is my favourite vanilla and raspberry Original Source shower gel. It is a very purse friendly shower gel, that smells amazing. It is a fairly sweet smell, but with a bit of tartness from the raspberry. I have repurchased this more times than I can recall and already have another tube in my shower.
Lastly is the Vita Liberata Body Blur. This is an amazing instant fake tan. It not only adds a great wash of colour, in the most beautiful of shades but it also adds a bit of coverage, like a concealer would. I definitely recommend this and have also already repurchased it.
