At the weekend I bought a few new bits, two of which were from Guerlain. I have only had 5 days to try them, but have used the primer every day since and have used the lipstick several times now, so want to give you my first impressions on both products.
The first product is the new L’Or Pure Radiance Primer. Firstly this is the most beautiful looking primer I have ever used. It is in a gorgeous glass bottle, so you can see the primer inside, which is full of little pure 24-carat gold flakes. So it definitely scores highly on aesthetics.
This primer claims to “glow with divine and unfailing radiance. Skin is supple, satiny and ready for perfect, enhanced and long-lasting makeup.” Personally, I think they are some big claims and I wouldn’t go as far as to say my skin glows with divine and unfailing radiance; however it does give a really gorgeous glow to the skin. I have had a number of compliments on my skin glowing since wearing it, so it definitely does give luminosity to the skin. It does tighten the skin on application, so does deliver in terms of helping the skin look smoother and therefore makeup does go on easier. So I am really impressed with this primer.
A little goes a long way, so although it is a fairly pricey primer at £46, it will last you a long time as you only need half a pump for your whole face.
The second product I bought was one of their new lipsticks, the Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lipstick in 041 Sun-Twin-Set. Again, the first thing you notice is the stunning packaging, the case is a clear case with a little heart on the top. I personally think it is beautiful. In terms of the finish of the lipstick, this is an extremely hydrating lipstick, which can be applied lightly to give more of a sheer wash of colour, or applied more thickly to give an opaque but shiny finish. The colour I bought is a gorgeous coral, that instantly made me feel summery. It doesn’t last amazingly well, as with most lipsticks that have a glossy finish, but it certainly lasts longer than some glossier lipsticks I have used. There is a shade range of 18 colours and they cost £21.50 each.
All in all I am really impressed with the two new bits from Guerlain, and the primer has definitely made it into my daily rotation.
